READY. SET. SOAR. Celebrations at groundbreaking ceremony of Kai Tak Sports Park

(Hong Kong, 23 April 2019) Leigh & Orange Limited (L&O) is pleased to announce that the groundbreaking ceremony officiated by the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Mrs. Carrie Lam, took place today marks the major milestone for the construction of this world-class sports park at Kai Tak which is expected to be completed in 2023.

Kai Tak Sports Park located at the north apron of the former airport, the park covers around 28 hectares, a new 50,000-seat main stadium with a retractable roof for public enjoyment. It also features a variety of facilities such as outdoor ball courts, open lawn areas, children’s play areas, fitness stations and more.

Ms. Ivy Lee, Managing Director of L&O says, “The Kai Tak Sports Park marks a key milestone in the development of a world-class sports infrastructure in Hong Kong. With our expertise and track record in deliver high quality and multi-disciplinary sports projects, we have faith in ensure the successful construction and implementation of the Kai Tak Sports Park. ”

In stage 1, Leigh & Orange (L&O) has led a multi-discipline Technical Services Consultant Team for this mega project through the Pre-contract Award Stage – advising the Home Affairs Bureau through the development of the reference design, resolution of technical issues, as well as assisting in the worldwide tendering process. In stage 2 – the Post-contract Award Stage, L&O now serves as the representative of the Home Affairs Bureau to support the entire project team to carry out and complete the design and construction of the Kai Tak Sports Park by Kai Tak Sports Park Limited.
