Kau Sai Chau Golf ClubSai Kung, Hong Kong
Kau Sai Chau is Hong Kong’s first international-standard, public golf course. The course was built was on a barren rocky island that required substantial site formation, soil movement and blasting to achieve required formation levels the north and south courses were designed by the Gary Player Organisation, with L&O acting as executive architect. L&O was the architect of the clubhouse and golfing academy, with its landscaped parkland and covered driving ranges, a third course was added to the complex more recently.
The clubhouse, which took its form from the rural vernacular of a fortified Ming Dynasty village, sits as a cluster of buildings at the top of the island.
