A Landmark Win for Hong Kong’s AI Future
We are proud to share that our client, Hong Kong Range Intelligent Computing Technology Development Company Limited, has been awarded the tender for the HK$23.8 billion Sandy Ridge Supercomputing Hub in the Northern Metropolis.
Spanning a total site area of over 110,000 sqm, the development will deliver an advanced data centre and related industries data park — forming critical infrastructure to support Hong Kong’s innovation and technology ambitions.
A Partnership Since October 2025
Since October 2025, L&O has worked side-by-side with Range to develop this winning tender submission. Together with our team of specialist consultants, we undertook extensive technical studies and infrastructure planning to support a high-end data centre with a planned gross floor area of approximately 250,000 sqm.
The project is expected to increase Hong Kong’s computing power 36-fold by 2032, accelerating artificial intelligence development and scientific research breakthroughs, and significantly strengthening the city’s position as an international I&T hub.
The result was a submission praised by government officials as being of “very high quality” — a comprehensive and forward-looking proposal that secured what industry observers have described as the first major private industrial investment driving the Hong Kong–Shenzhen innovation link.
