The youth are the shapers of tomorrow’s world
The Hong Kong SAR government-led Strive and Rise Programme is designed to address intergenerational poverty by mentoring students from underprivileged families, particularly those living in subdivided units, to help them realise their life goals. This programme supports mentees from secondary schools ranging from Form 1 to 4.
L&O advocates for youth development and promotes environmental sustainability for future generations. As the Star Mentor for the Strive and Rise Programme, L&O’s Managing Director, Ivy Lee, had the privilege of sharing an inspiring introduction and leading a guided tour of award-winning project at CUHK for the programme’s mentees. The session focused on how architecture and sustainable design can transform communities, while also providing insights into how one can pursue a career in architecture.
The dialogue aimed to broaden their horizons, build self-confidence and foster a positive outlook for upward mobility. Ivy passionately shared her experiences in practicing architecture in Hong Kong, demonstrating how sustainability principles are applied in real-world projects. The tour of the Leung Fung Yee Building and Kunkle Student Centre at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Chung Chi Student Development Complex) showcased how green design can bring impactful changes.
At L&O, we are committed to continuing to empower youth by amplifying their voices and supporting their growth. With guidance and passion, we firmly believe that youth are the catalysts for positive change and a better tomorrow.
