Guangzhou Bio Island

Situated in the southernmost part of Bio Island in Guangzhou, an international hub for Research and Development in biology and medicine overlooks the scenic Guangzhou Waterway and offers stunning views of Xiaozhou Island Wetland Park across the water. The original planning conditions did not meet the future development needs of the client, prompting reasonable adjustments to enhance the design. By transforming the site’s restrictions into a unique design, we aim to satisfy the client’s requirements while emphasising a return to nature and prioritising the conservation of natural elements.

The site’s distinctive geographical location and exceptional landscape resources naturally guide the planning and design concepts toward ecology, nature, and livability. The proposal, titled “The Bio Island in the Bio Island,” intends to maximize the use of green spaces through square parks, sunken courtyards, roof gardens, and vertical greening. This will create a one-of-a-kind international scientific research park that integrates work, leisure, and communal life. With a total floor area of approximately 55,000 sqm, the development will encompass various facilities, including scientific research laboratories, offices, exhibition spaces, canteens and other amenity facilities.
