House of Dancing Water Renovation
Cotai, Macau, ChinaHouse of Dancing Water Renovation project encompasses upgrades to the Theatre Lobby, the addition of a bussing corridor, and the leisure area. A seamless flow of diamond-shaped motifs connects the different spaces, creating a cohesive design language that enhances the immersive experience. The elegant interplay of white and gold tones evokes a warm and inviting atmosphere, while the dynamic, wavy entrance design adds a sense of movement and modernity.
The lobby renovation spans 1,242 square meters, reimagining multiple spaces for the show’s relaunch and the relocation of the bussing entrance, with a design inspired by fluid architecture. The design features cool white surfaces with golden diamond patterns, complemented by golden and mirrored stainless steel to create reflective depth. Some patterns are rendered in three dimensions to enhance layering and visual interest. Strategic lighting amplifies the dynamic interplay of reflections.
The bussing corridor, now a main entrance from the bussing area, ensures a cohesive transition with white marble floors, brown marble inlays, and illuminated wall panels, echoing the lobby’s elegance. The retail shop extends the corridor’s floor pattern and continues the design theme with cohesion. A wave-like ceiling, inspired by the show’s story, connects the spaces to the theatrical narrative.
The leisure area features a dark, intimate ambiance that evokes a sense of discovery and exclusivity. Plush carpets and sofa seating add softness, while a bright “House of Dancing Water” logo wall offers a photo opportunity. A backlit stone buffet counter and golden stainless-steel shelves with illuminated glass frames enhance the space. Accessible via a sliding door which offers elevated show views, theatre seating, live-stream tablets from hidden underwater cameras, and discreet storage. Energy-efficient lighting balances luxury with sustainability, delivering a visually immersive experience that reflects the show’s spirit.
