KingMed International Medical Laboratory

The project is located in the planned International Medical Tourism pilot zone of Boao Le City, Hainan Province, to the west of Kangxiang road and the north of Wenzhi Street. It covers an area of 10,800sqm, with a total GFA of 10,800sqm. The project is located in Boao, which is rich in landscape and tourism resources, and the pilot scheme serves as a window to showcase China’s advanced medical strength to the world. The project which is in line with the spirit of the times. The architectural form of “chromosome double helix” not only expresses Jinyu medical laboratory’s cutting-edge technology and advanced research, but also accords with the inner spirit of the pioneer area. Located at the corner of Kangxiang road and Wenzhi street, its unique geometry and architectural form becomes a landmark in the area.

The layout of the building is divided into North and South wings. The North wing is quiet and secluded. The 5-storey medical laboratory provides a tranquil setting conductive to scientific research, together with internal landscape which offers leisure and relaxation for the laboratory researchers.

The south wing is vibrant and planned for experiments and dormitories. The south of the building offers a commanding and wide view into the city council’s designated green spaces. There is a green berm which is 2-storey high and it overlooks into the urban landscape. In addition to its expressive geometry, the berm creates a large area of interactive and engaging public space, connecting people from the city. The prevailing wind direction of Boao comes from the southeast and southwest direction. The podium arcade allows natural ventilation from south to north, creating microcirculation climate, which saves energy and reduces carbon emission.
